Fading Memories

Fading memories,
Highlight the essence of life
That the footprints left on the sand of time
Are mercilessly washed away by the unchallenged
Vigor of this beautiful journey called life.
That their existence too ceases as time goes by.

Those moments so close to heart,
So much real, so much the present,
Would be passed on as only thoughts.
That those interestingly stretched events,
Would be scaled down to few reminiscences,
Limited to only one’s imagination.

That the feeling involving all our senses,
Would one day become unreal,
That every single memory would
Resemble our dreams

Those joyful little saplings in the garden,
Enjoying the sweetness of the nature
Would one day grow ten times taller than me
That they make me ponder how quickly
Time has passed by. Still lost in those days
When I watered those saplings make me realize
How short memory I have
That I fail to connect it’s present form with it’s past
That I surely forgotten those moments, those years
The link between the present and the past.

Those evenings, days, months, years when I used
To play, so much enthusiastic, so much involved
Would no longer touch my senses
That those wonderful victories, tearful loses
In the games would only be a memory and that too fading.
That those events so much a part of me can’t
Be remolded into any other form of communication
But can only be felt.

That this is the irony of life,
A journey that presents new challenges
At each turn, but fails to live the past.
A journey that is unstoppable and unchallengeable.
