Burning the midnight oil
enduring the unprecedented toil
Is It what I have asked for?
Is It what I dreamt of?

Tossing off squalling emotions
Snubbing down the comfort notions

Not long ago was a gala time
enjoying the summer breeze in its prime.
My soul couldn't have asked for more
only to witness the upcoming furore.
'Nature' is a lousy teacher
that obliges you to respect the sanctity of her.
That roaring thunder was a wake up call
to be braced for a battle that upcoming fall.
A mighty breeze swept across my face
that hurled me to pick up my pace.
From dawn to dusk the war ravaged along
and with no end in sight it went on and on.
The final day had arrived
and it gifted me a smile that I was long deprived.

But it still sends a shiver down my spine
when I recall that I have lost too much time.
Is It what I have asked for?
Is It what I dreamt of?

The Journey Ahead

It is tantalizing...
when my eyes dream of my future.
It sends down shivers...
when I think of the road ahead.
Although my heart whispers....
I will make it through.
It taxes my soul...
I have put in too much.
But I know...
I will be safe.
That I will see the sun
on the other side of the hedge.
